The exhibition is co-sponsored by School of Archaeology and Museology of Peking University,School of Design of Central Academy of Fine Arts, Shanxi Museum and Shanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology.Featuring 22 pieces/sets of jade ware of the Western andEastern Zhou dynastiesunearthed in Shanxi as well as 15 pieces of modern artwork, it launches a dialogue between ancient and modern cultures and arts.
"Meetingwith Jade: a Dialogue Between Zhou Dynasties and Contemporary Times", starting from the contemporary nature of the culture behind the jade ware of the Zhou dynasties, and from the angles of archaeology, art and design, interprets the jade culture and artistic ideas of the Western Zhou Dynasty. In addition, it interacts with contemporary art design, and gives people a brand-new cultural experience and aesthetic enjoyment. During the exhibition, besides appreciating these fine jade articles of the Zhou Dynasty at close range, the audience can also participate in lectures, salons, artistic discussions with modern jade sculpture designers, and conduct on-site scholarly learning and cultural experience.
The exhibition lasts from September 7thto October 7th. Shanxi Museum Art Center looks forward to seeing you “meet with jade” and see its beauty.
